i have a strong desire to express something of my life experiences, and am compelled to spend a lot of time in open landscapes, among mountains or by sea. It is something in the contrast of these environments that generates the ideas for my artwork.

The point of departure for my work, is an emotional quality or a factuality, in other words, a feeling. The work is often a translation of my own internal experience of the external world. I go on adventures, which further my horizons, camping out, going for long walks and looking at the sky.

Sometimes when I look up at a sky, I am filled with a powerful feeling that makes me want to be up there. It is this feeling, that for me, words are inadequate, which makes me want to create.

On my walks I write, make sketches and take photos. These are the raw material for use when I am back in the studio. Perhaps it is something about creating an illusion, as I find mystery in everything around me.
